Stuart "Stu" Sorenson is a volunteer with Mission Builders International. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at a Billy Graham rally in 1963. In 1986, he received his license as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) which he maintained until February, 2025; he is currently a CFP BOARD EMERITUS® member. In 1996, he was awarded a Master’s Degree from the College for Financial Planning. In 2007, under the direct tutelage of noted Christian financial advisor Ron Blue, he received a credential as a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA®) which he maintained until July, 2025. Prior to 2017, he conducted investing workshops for the Fresno-Madera Medical Society, numerous retirement plan fiduciaries, and for staff members at YWAM’s University of the Nations (U of N). At the end of 2016, he retired from 34 years in the financial services industry. Since 2017, he has provided workshops and personal financial coaching for staff at U of N/YWAM Kona, YWAM Orlando, YWAM San Diego/Baja, YWAM San Francisco, YWAM Montana, YWAM Salem, YWAM Chico, YWAM Tyler, and Gleanings for The Hungry, as well as in his local community. He is a member of the University Vineyard Church in Fresno, California, and has been married to his “beautiful and godly” wife, Anita, an online missionary, since 1987. He believes that the Lord now wants him to use his skills and experience to help ministry workers be better stewards of whatever financial resources God provides them.
